LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Day
Time & Location
About the Event
Held annually on the 28 May LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Day is the only day like it in the world and aims to help end domestic, family and intimate partner violence and abuse (DFV) within LGBTQ communities, by increasing visibility through the annual awareness day campaign.
The theme for our 2021 event will be announced soon. Workplaces, educational institutions and the community are encouraged to start a conversation about what they can do to ensure all people, including our LGBTQ+ communities are supported if they experience domestic or family violence. Reduce barriers to reporting. Increase awareness of DFV in LGBTQ communities and the unique behaviours and dynamics.
LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Day is the Foundation’s biggest fundraiser each year and your support will help us to continue developing free resources for workplaces, universities, schools and support services on how to best respond to DFV in LGBTQ communities.
